The Child In The Rimba

Kubu tribe or also known as The Child In The Rimba or is one of the minority ethnic group live on the island of Sumatra, especially in Jambi and South Sumatra. The majority of them live in the provinces of Jambi, with a population estimated around 200,000 people.  

According to oral tradition is a tribe of Children In Maalau people astray, running to the jungle in the vicinity of Air Hitam, Bukit twenty National Parks. They then called Segayo fathers. Others mentioned the tradition they come from Pagaruyung, who flee to Bali. This fact indigenous tribes have a Children In similarity with the language and customs Minangkabau tribe, such as the matrilineal system. 

 In general they live in Jambi in 3 different ecological regions, namely the People Kubu Jambi Province in the north (around Bukit 30 National Park), Park Hill 12, and the area south of Jambi (Sumatra traffic along the road). They live in nomaden and build his life in hunting and "meramu", although many of them now has the land of rubber and other agriculture. 

Their lives very poor along with the loss of forest resources in the Jambi and South Sumatra, and processes marginalisasi done by the government and the dominant ethnic group (Malay People), which is in Jambi and South Sumatra.
